GENERAL RULES FOR THE STUDENTS
1. GRADING SYSTEM
In order to qualify in a promotional examination for all the subject in DoEACC Course module, a candidate must appear all the Semester-End Examinations and must obtain at least 50% marks in theory and practical examinations. As for BCA and Diploma Courses (i.e. DETE and DCSE), the grading system will be as per the existing structure of the Mizoram University and the Mizoram State Council for Technical Education.
2. WORKING HOURS AND HOLIDAYS
The Institution follows five (5) working days in a week from Monday to Friday. And in addition, it follows a schedule of holiday as per the rules of the Central Government of India. The weekday’s class starts at 9:30 A.M and ends by 4:30 P.M.
3. ATTENDANCE
The students should have at least 80% attendance in order to be eligible for appearing the final examination and for the application of their annual Scholarship. Consideration will be made in this regards for exceptional cases strictly and each permitted leave of one (1) day will be counted as half (½) day attendance provided the concerned students has good result in the Term Exams. For other students not having 80% attendance, they have to pay a fine of Rs. 50/- per day of absence to make up 80% attendance. But, no request will be entertained from persons with less than 70% attendance, in any case.
4. LEAVE PROCEDURES
Proper leave procedure should be followed by the students i.e., their leave application duly signed by parents should be recommended by the Faculty concerned of each subject and sanctioned by the Academic Head. Leave for more than three (3) days should be attached with proper Medical Certificate, Medical Prescriptions, etc.
5. EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION RULES
The Attendance and Term Exams performances of a respective student will be considered firmly for the Examination and Promotion. No Dues Certificate will be demanded from the student for applying the Final Examination. The Promotion Criteria for all the DoEACC Courses will be as per the existing rules i.e. 50% marks for all modules and Project completion. For the BCA and Diploma Courses, it will be as per the criteria of the Mizoram University and the Mizoram State Council for Technical Education.
6. LIBRARY RULES
i. Students are allowed to borrow three to four books as per availability and regulation.
ii. Students can avail Library facility during the working hours only.
iii. Reference books are assessable but only inside the Library and not vice versa.
iv. Delay in returning books will be fined per day.
v. Students shall be responsible for the loss of books, in kind or in cash.
vi. Students are expected to maintain complete silence inside the Library.
vii. Handbag, rucksack, backpack, knapsack, etc., are restricted inside the Library.
6. LABORATORY RULES
i. No students are allowed inside the laboratory except during class period. For extra practice, students may take permission of their concerned faculty and System Administrator should be informed.
ii. No external storage devices are allowed inside the laboratory and in case the requirement arises, the permission should be obtained from Academic Head or Concerned Faculty.
iii. For any offence committed by the students in the lab, proper disciplinary action will be taken by the Institution.
8. DISCIPLINE
i. Smoking, consumption of intoxicants, etc., is strictly prohibited inside the Campus.
ii. Students are expected to dress in proper attire inside the Campus.
iii. Students are expected to show respect and comply with the Faculty, and to carry on appropriately in the Class.
iv. Mobile Phones, Pagers, Mp3 player, i-pod, etc., should be switched off inside the Class, Laboratory, Library, Workshop, etc., and in case of emergency students may be contacted through the LAN Line of the Institution. The LAN Line numbers are as below:-
